What this is
almunecar.nu is an independent, non-commercial information site about Almuñécar and La Herradura on the Costa Tropical, written in Swedish and English. It is not affiliated with the town hall or the tourist office – their official sites are almunecar.es and visitalmunecar.es. The aim is to gather what is scattered across many places: history, visitor information and the practicalities that people living here or thinking of moving here need.

The information comes from Wikipedia (the articles on Almuñécar, Sexi, the Castillo de San Miguel, La Herradura, the Costa Tropical, Maro–Cerro Gordo and Abd ar-Rahman I), Almuñécar town hall, the Junta de Andalucía, the Spanish statistics office INE, ALSA, the Swedish embassy in Madrid and local news sites. Opening hours, prices and timetables were checked in August 2026 but do change – always confirm with the organiser.
